SUSY SUN

"Susy Sun’s got demons on her latest track; luckily, her curse is our blessing, as 'Demons' is a warm, blissful slice of electro-pop that sounds much more heavenly than hellish."
– LadyGunn.com
"A classically trained musician, Susy Sun knows how to write a song and she knows the value of a tune that still holds up when you strip away all of the electronic bells & whistles."
– Baeble Music
"Similar to indie-pop staples Ingrid Michaelson and Sia, [Susy Sun] creates a brand of pop by turns chilling, honest, and sugary–sweet–in a way that has you rooting for her on the crazy battlefield of love…"
– Seattle Weekly

Susy Sun

Gemini sun sign, Washington-native Susy Sun grew up in the desert amid hardy apple orchards. As the sole artist sprung from the middle of five other siblings, she was fascinated by the persistent questions of spirituality, empowerment and meaning. Music shed light on her introspection, becoming Susy’s microscope into the human condition.

Always singing and writing out of sight, Sun kept her art locked away through college and a corporate job, yet remained unhappy without her original pursuit of meaning. A chance meeting with Seattle-based producer Shawn Simmons (The Head and the Heart) recalibrated Susy’s musical focus and clarity. In 2013, they released her debut album Wanderlust, and Seattle Weekly wrote, “similar to indie-pop staples Ingrid Michaelson and Sia, Susy Sun creates a brand of pop by turns chilling, honest, and sugary–sweet–in a way that has you rooting for her on the crazy battlefield of love.”

Now, Sun is conquering new terrain to hone her sound and image as an artist; collaborating with electronic chill-wave producer Manatee Commune on a cover of Bad Habit and DJ duo Go Periscope for their new track Dreaming. Recently, Sun’s new track That’s Just Life hit Starbuck’s stores world over, making her mark on the world of indie-chic pop. Sun's new EP is dropping this fall featuring two singles, "Any Other Way" and "Demons," plus two acoustic versions. Her full length album with LA-based producer Benjamin Greenspan (Fences, Macklemore) will be out in 2016.
